Role overview
Confidential client is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join their structural engineering and construction consulting team in Miami Beach, FL. This hands-on role supports field inspection and structural repair projects, with regular work on construction sites and collaboration with senior engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with field inspections and special inspections on construction sites, observing contractor work and verifying conformance with structural repair drawings
- Measure and quantify work performed and document site conditions
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Support design and detailing tasks, with emphasis on structural concrete
- Prepare clear, professional reports and measurement records
- Use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) to produce documentation and drawings
- Work safely at heights and follow site safety protocols
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Proof of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam — required, contingent upon employment
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to read construction drawings and prepare site documentation
- Comfortable with on-site field work and working at heights
Preferred skills & tools
- Experience or coursework in structural concrete design and repair
- AutoCAD experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Attention to detail and professional written communication
- Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with multi-discipline teams
Compensation & logistics
- Estimated salary: $62,077 per year (estimated)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Location: Miami Beach, FL — frequent travel to local construction sites required
- This role is entry level but requires FE passage as noted above. Candidates should be prepared to perform field inspections and sit/stand for site visits.
