Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry level structural engineer to join a field-focused structural engineering team. This full-time role provides hands-on experience on construction sites and in structural inspections, with a strong emphasis on reinforced concrete work and construction-drawing review.
What You’ll Do
- Perform on-site observations and special inspections to measure, quantify, and verify contractor work against structural repair drawings and project specifications.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to confirm conformance with design documents.
- Assist with structural assessments, field reporting, and documentation of site conditions.
- Use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) to prepare and update drawings, reports, and logs.
- Support senior engineers on concrete structural tasks, including form/check and repair verification.
- Work safely on elevated structures when required; follow all site safety procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Proof of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is required (may be submitted after offer but required prior to or upon employment as stated by the client).
- Proficient in English (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Comfortable performing field work that may include working at heights and outdoors.
- Reliable transportation or ability to meet field-assignment requirements.
