What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level, primarily office-based structural design role supporting building projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. You will learn on the job and work under the guidance of experienced engineers.

  • Assist with structural engineering design for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents
  • Support designs for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems
  • Work with project engineers to develop practical, code-compliant solutions
  • Assist with structural analysis, design reviews, and construction documentation
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers throughout the design process
  • Learn industry software, engineering standards, and building design best practices
  • Contribute to real-world engineering challenges while building technical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification — required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline — preferred
  • Interest in building structural engineering and design
  • Coursework, internships, or academic project experience with structural analysis, calculations, or construction drawings
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, RAM, or other structural engineering software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and eagerness to learn
  • Recent graduates and early-career engineers encouraged to apply
  • Note: Experience limited to bridge/highway/transportation-only work is not a fit for this role
