Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Staff Accountants to join their Upstate New York practice, with positions starting October 2026 (or January 2027 depending on graduation and CPA eligibility). This is an excellent opportunity for 2026 graduates who are CPA-eligible or working toward CPA certification and want strong mentorship, hands-on experience, and clear career progression in public accounting.
What You’ll Do — Assurance (example location: Albany)
- Prepare financial statements and audit documentation with your team
- Use modern accounting and audit technology to deliver high-quality work
- Communicate proactively with team members and managers about progress and issues
- Manage timelines and budgets while meeting client expectations
- Collaborate in a learning-focused environment and stay current on professional standards
- Build strong client relationships from day one
What You’ll Do — Tax (example locations: Buffalo & Syracuse)
- Prepare and/or review business and individual tax returns; perform financial statement compilations and reviews
- Support client engagements with budget analyses, cash-flow projections, and advisory projects
- Research tax and accounting issues and prepare clear, practical written conclusions
- Manage schedules and deadlines for tax deliverables
- Mentor and help train interns and newer staff where appropriate
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and CPA eligibility (or progress toward eligibility)
- Less than one year of professional experience — ideal for new or soon-to-be graduates
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and modern accounting software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional presence
- Commitment to excellent client service and a team-oriented mindset
- A desire to grow quickly and take on meaningful responsibilities

Compensation & Hours
- Base salary: $60,500 per year
- Standard office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Summer schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
