Confidential Client is hiring an Entry‑Level Staff Accountant based in Saint Benedict, LA. This is an entry-level, full‑time accounting role offering hands-on experience across accounting, tax, and audit work. The position will consider graduating seniors completing degrees in December 2026 (part‑time through graduation may be possible).
- Estimated annual pay: $49,116 (per posting)
What you’ll do
- Record transactions in ledgers and prepare trial balances and financial statements using accounting software
- Reconcile accounts to control accounts and perform schedule computations (accruals, property & equipment)
- Calculate depreciation expense and maintain equipment schedules
- Perform audit or review procedures as assigned and complete small compilations or reviews with minimal assistance
- Prepare corporate and/or personal income tax returns and assist in proofing financial statements
- Use tax and accounting software for returns, schedules, and related tasks
- Begin developing client communication skills and assist with client-facing work as directed
- Perform other accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Have 150 credited hours or be in progress toward 150 hours to sit for the CPA exam
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive, enthusiastic energy and strong people skills
- A forward-thinking, hands-on approach and a clear desire to learn
- Leadership potential and ability to work collaboratively with teammates and clients
