What You’ll Do

This listing (primary keyword: Entry Level Software Programmer / Developer (.NET, C#) — Milford, MI) seeks an engineer to build and maintain virtual-in-the-loop (VIL) and software-in-the-loop (SiL) simulation environments used for development, verification, and validation of embedded vehicle controllers and subsystem models.

  • Develop and deliver virtual-in-the-loop environments to support embedded controller and calibration development for propulsion (ICE/hybrid/electrification), transmission, chassis, and brake systems.
  • Integrate virtual electronic control units (V‑ECUs) and subsystem models into system-level dynamic simulations.
  • Create, maintain, and test virtual controller components (HWIO, RTOS layers, communication stacks).
  • Obtain, parameterize, and integrate plant, sensor, actuator, and ECU behavioral models into co-simulations.
  • Build and maintain serial data connectivity and co-simulation links between tools, virtual controllers, and external platforms.
  • Participate in modeling and debugging of hybrid vehicle systems and mechatronic subsystems; deploy subsystem models as reusable system-level components.
  • Produce and maintain release documentation; support user testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing simulation maintenance.

The Confidential Client seeks candidates with an engineering degree and practical experience integrating simulation models and embedded software.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an application-engineer or related role (entry-level-to-mid depending on background).
  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with SiL co-simulation and virtual ECU model integration for vehicle propulsion or hybrid systems.
  • Strong background integrating plant models and ECU models into dynamic simulations and validating system performance.
  • Experience supporting released simulations, debugging model behavior, and assisting user testing.
