Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Software Engineer to join a Vehicle Electronics and Software Execution team focused on data-driven quality, analytics, and AI-powered prognostics for vehicle programs. This early-career, full-time role is hybrid and based in Warren, MI (Southeast Michigan). You will work with engineers and data scientists to build data pipelines, deploy scalable AI/ML solutions, and deliver web UIs and dashboards that influence product launches and vehicle quality.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver applications that train and serve machine learning models and make large datasets accessible to business users.
- Develop analytics from engineering, program, and manufacturing data to surface insights critical to vehicle program launches.
- Preprocess and transform structured and unstructured data for analysis and model training.
- Deploy scalable AI/ML analytics and prognostics applications in a cloud environment.
- Analyze large, diverse datasets to identify trends that inform executive decisions and quality improvements.
- Present complex information using data visualizations and deliver UI applications for business clients.
- Build repeatable, maintainable code and processes to increase development efficiency.
- Coordinate with data governance, infrastructure, architecture, and operations teams on platform management and migrations.
- Monitor new trends and technologies and apply GenAI where it improves productivity.
Required qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation between December 2026 and August 2027.
- Proficient in Python.
- Able to work full-time (40 hours/week).
- Must be able to work in Southeast Michigan (hybrid onsite requirement).
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI or Databricks Dashboards.
- Experience with SQL and Databricks in an Azure cloud environment.
- Knowledge of data storage solutions, databases, and data processing frameworks.
- Ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
- Experience building AI/ML-based solutions.
Work arrangement & location
This is a hybrid role. The successful candidate is expected to report to the office at least three days per week (business-dictated schedule). Primary work locations include Warren, MI (GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center) and Milford, MI (Proving Grounds). Compensation & benefits
- Estimated pay shown on the original posting: $86,521 per year (estimated).
