What You’ll Do
This Entry Level Software Engineer will design, optimize, and develop software solutions in an R&D-focused environment supporting advanced technology efforts. You will work with teammates and end users to deliver reliable, high-performance internal tools and participate in test events.
- Design and develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for internal engineering tools.
- Implement and optimize software components using C++ and modern development practices.
- Use DevOps and source control tools (Rational Team Concert, GitLab) to manage code and releases.
- Participate in software verification: benchmarking, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Support test events and occasional travel to validate systems and integrate software with hardware teams.
- Collaborate in Agile teams to translate requirements into working software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field.
- Active Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
- Hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, and documentation.
- Proficiency with C++ and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience using Git or Bitbucket for version control.
- Practical experience working in Agile development environments.
- Ability to provide reliable site access (valid Real ID driver’s license) and commute as required to client sites in the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C#, Java, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and DevOps workflows.
- Exposure to GUI frameworks and UI/UX fundamentals for engineering tools.
- Experience in performance optimization and benchmarking of real-time systems.

- Base salary range: $75,000 to $90,000 per year (good-faith estimate).

Location & Mobility
