What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level engineer to support AI and innovation initiatives. You’ll contribute to research, prototyping, and evaluation of Generative AI and LLM-driven solutions that improve internal processes and client-facing products.

• Research emerging AI/GenAI tools, frameworks, and industry trends.
• Evaluate AI platforms and large language models (LLMs) for real-world use cases.
• Design, test, and optimize prompts for generative AI workflows.
• Build simple prototypes and proof-of-concepts using Python or no-code/low-code tools.
• Analyze AI use cases across verticals such as healthcare, financial services, mortgage, insurance, and retail.
• Assist in producing technical documentation, presentations, and reports.
• Conduct competitive and market research on AI products and vendors.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, recruiting, and business teams to identify AI-driven process improvements.
• Support internal automation, knowledge-management, and productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate foundational technical knowledge, strong communication, and curiosity about applied AI.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a BS or MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, and generative AI concepts.
• Familiarity with large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and prompt-engineering concepts.
• Basic programming skills — Python preferred.
• Comfortable learning and using APIs and automation tools.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated and able to learn new technologies quickly.

Preferred Skills

These skills will help you ramp faster and contribute to production prototypes.

• Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebook, Git, or Google Colab.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or OpenAI APIs.
• Exposure to vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI agents.
• Knowledge of automation platforms (Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, n8n) is a plus.

Compensation & Location

• Work type: Full-time (Onsite)
• Location: Vienna, VA — this position is expected to be onsite in Vienna.
• Estimated compensation: $100,055 per year (estimated).
• Employment note: Employment with our client is subject to standard background and eligibility checks and is at-will unless otherwise specified in a written agreement.
