Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Software Engineer (Onsite / Hybrid) in Vienna, VA. This is an early-career opportunity supporting AI and innovation initiatives—ideal for students or recent graduates who want hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and prototype development.
What You’ll Do
- Support AI research and experimentation for internal innovation projects.
- Evaluate LLM platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) and AI business solutions.
- Design, test, and optimize prompts for Generative AI applications.
- Build simple prototypes and proofs-of-concept using no-code/low-code tools or Python.
- Analyze AI use cases across industries such as Healthcare, Financial Services, Mortgage, Insurance, and Retail.
- Create documentation, technical reports, and presentations to communicate findings.
- Conduct competitive and market research on AI products and trends.
- Collaborate with engineering, recruiting, and business teams to identify AI-driven process improvements.
- Support internal automation, knowledge-management, and productivity tooling initiatives.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI concepts.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms.
- Basic programming knowledge in Python preferred.
- Familiarity with APIs, prompt engineering, or AI automation tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to learn new technologies quickly.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebook, Git, or Google Colab.
- Knowledge of AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or OpenAI APIs.
- Exposure to vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI agents.
- Familiarity with automation platforms like Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier, or n8n.

- Estimated compensation: $117,012 per year (estimated)
