What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that connect to relational databases (SQL).
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and data access layers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope features, implement endpoints, and ship reliable code.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and monitor services in cloud environments; learn basic DevOps automation.
• Contribute to small production projects end-to-end: design → implement → deploy → monitor.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or nearing completion) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with SQL (writing joins, aggregates, basic optimization).
• Familiarity with building or consuming REST APIs.
• Some coding experience in at least one mainstream language (Java or Python preferred).
• Clear problem-solving ability and basic understanding of data structures and debugging.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced hiring/training pipeline.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. for this position.

Preferred qualifications

• Coursework or projects using Java full-stack frameworks or Python backend stacks.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerization (Docker).
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience or interest in data roles: analytics, data engineering, or introductory ML/AI.
• Any internship, practicum, or relevant project that shows end-to-end application development.

• Compensation: $78,000 - $127,000 per year (range provided by the hiring client).
