Compensation & Logistics

This is a full-time role based in Newark, NJ.
Estimated compensation: $126,724 per year (estimated).
Work location: Newark, New Jersey (on-site / client sites).

What You’ll Do

You will join a confidential client’s engineering team to learn and contribute to production software. Typical responsibilities include:

• Work on backend or full-stack features using Java and related frameworks.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Jenkins, GitHub).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into working code.
• Contribute to debugging, performance tuning, and documentation.
• Learn and apply data science or machine learning basics for applicable roles.

What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field — or equivalent project experience.
• Demonstrable programming experience (coursework, internships, projects) in Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and object-oriented design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated, self-directed learner with a willingness to upskill.

Preferred / Helpful Skills

• Java core, Spring Boot, microservices architecture.
• Front-end fundamentals: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• CI/CD tooling: Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• Data & ML skills (for data roles): Python, statistics, NumPy/pandas, visualization (Tableau/Power BI), TensorFlow, Databricks, NLP/text mining.
• Experience with REST APIs, version control (Git), and basic cloud concepts.
