Summary

This listing is for an entry-level software engineering role supporting a confidential client’s defense-focused engineering program in Kinloch, MO. The role develops, integrates, and tests real-time and non‑real-time software for aircraft systems as part of multidisciplinary Agile teams.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with design, development, testing, and maintenance of software across the full lifecycle, following industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards
• Translate customer requirements into initial software designs and assist with documenting architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and specifications
• Develop, enhance, and optimize software capabilities for system integration—including embedded, real‑time components
• Implement and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests; assist with debugging and issue resolution
• Participate in Agile/SAFe team ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
• Support continuous improvement efforts: implement tools, frameworks, and best practices (DevOps, CI/CD) where applicable
• Assist with supplier management activities, track team and supplier performance, and help document software R&D outcomes
• Support user inquiries and troubleshooting as needed

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• 1+ years of experience with one or more of: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
• 1+ years working with object-oriented programming concepts
• 1+ years developing, documenting, and maintaining software architectures, algorithms, interfaces, or designs
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance if required — U.S. citizenship may be required for clearance eligibility
• Must meet U.S. export control requirements (see “Eligibility & Clearance”)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science from an accredited program or equivalent experience (see source for exact equivalencies)
• Experience with Agile/SAFe development practices
• Familiarity with DevOps / CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Gradle, Artifactory, Git Bash, and Jira
• Prior experience developing embedded real‑time software and working with RTOS
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders at varying levels
• Familiarity with safety‑ and regulation‑driven engineering practices

Compensation & Benefits

• Summary pay range for Entry Level: $78,200 — $105,800 per year (reported by the client; actual pay is based on experience, qualifications, and market factors)
• Benefits and total rewards vary by eligibility and location but generally include medical plans, retirement savings options, leave programs, and other standard employee benefits
• Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates

• This role requires compliance with U.S. export control rules. To meet export-control requirements, the client requires a "U.S. Person" as defined in 22 C.F.R. §120.62 (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance may be required; for some clearances U.S. citizenship is required. Final clearance decisions are made by the government.
