Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry‑Level Software Engineer (Level 0) to join an on-site development team in Harmans, MD. This is a full-time, on-site position (no hybrid/remote work). The role focuses on analyzing, debugging, integrating, and developing software in support of government/defense IT systems. Active Top Secret SCI with polygraph is required.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze user and system requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects to meet functional and performance goals.
  • Design, code, and modify software to add new features or adapt systems to new environments.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
  • Develop simple queries for existing or proposed databases/data repositories.
  • Recommend improvements to documentation and software development process standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university — OR four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a degree.
  • At least entry-level software engineering experience (projects demonstrating software design, coding, debugging, integration).
  • Active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph (must be held at time of hire).

Preferred (demonstrated on the resume):

  • Experience with software debugging, integration, and writing production-quality code.
  • Familiarity with developing simple data queries and working with databases.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and attention to documentation/process improvements.
