The Entry-Level Software Engineer at Confidential Client will develop, test, and maintain software applications while participating in the full software development lifecycle. Position Overview
This role is for an entry-level software engineer to join a growing IT team. You'll work on real product features and services, learn modern development practices, and receive mentorship from experienced engineers. This posting represents employment with a confidential client.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle: requirements, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, QA, and other stakeholders in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Troubleshoot application issues and propose technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party services as needed.
- Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases for application data.
- Write unit tests and support integration and functional testing efforts.
- Use Git and other version-control practices to manage source code and branches.
- Continuously learn new tools, languages, and frameworks and contribute to process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of software development experience (including internships, academic projects, or relevant project work).
- Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with at least one language: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or C++.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building web applications or backend services.
- Familiarity with React, Angular, Node.js, Spring Boot, .NET, Django, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and JSON.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum processes.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and Linux/Unix environments.
- Public code samples or a GitHub portfolio showing personal or academic projects.
