What You’ll Do
This is an Entry-Level Software Developer role focused on web development for a Confidential Client building cloud-native fintech systems. You will join a product team that develops and maintains billing and payment features used across North America and globally.
- Build and enhance web and backend features using JVM languages and front-end technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs that support billing and payment flows.
- Fix bugs, refactor code, and participate in regular code reviews to improve product quality.
- Collaborate with SDETs to develop and execute test strategies and automation.
- Deploy and monitor services in production, contributing to operational reliability.
- Work with event-driven systems (e.g., Pub/Sub or Kafka) and batch processing tools (Airflow / Cloud Composer).
- Participate in on-site team collaboration and agile development practices.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications — candidates should meet most of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a full-stack developer (Java on the backend; JavaScript/TypeScript + React on the frontend).
- Practical experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud or equivalent) and DevOps concepts.
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Google Pub/Sub, Kafka) is desirable.
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, cURL) and monitoring tools (Grafana, Datadog).
- Good problem-solving skills, strong communication, and ability to work collaboratively in-person.
Preferred / nice-to-have:
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of batch orchestration tools (Airflow / Cloud Composer).
- Prior work on billing, payments, or fintech-related systems.
Location & Schedule
- Work location: Sunnyvale, CA (on-site; in-person collaboration is essential for this role).
- Schedule: Monday–Friday on-site, unless otherwise agreed.
Compensation
- Estimated base salary: $109,607 per year (estimated).
- For incentive-eligible roles, additional annual incentive or equity opportunities may apply per the Confidential Client’s policies.
