Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Security Analyst to join a large public-sector cybersecurity program supporting operations in South Carolina. This is an onsite, full-time role providing hands-on training and mentorship in threat monitoring, incident response, and endpoint protection — ideal for candidates with foundational IT, networking, or server administration experience who want to build a career in cybersecurity.


What You’ll Do

  • Conduct threat intelligence research and monitor emerging cyber threats
  • Perform threat-hunting and analyze suspicious network or endpoint behavior
  • Review security logs and identify indicators of compromise (IOCs)
  • Assist with incident triage, investigation, containment, and remediation
  • Support vulnerability assessments, patch management, and endpoint protection
  • Create security documentation, reports, and training materials
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives
  • Use PowerShell, Group Policy, SCCM, and automation tools to support security operations
  • Assist with network security monitoring, digital forensics, and cloud security tasks

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic IT, networking, or system administration experience
  • Familiarity with Windows patching, PowerShell, and Active Directory concepts
  • Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts and processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of IT or IT security experience
  • Experience with SIEM and endpoint security tools
  • Experience with Group Policy and endpoint management tools (SCCM)
  • Understanding of vulnerability management and cloud security fundamentals
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (nice to have)
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, GSEC, or GCIH

Schedule & Location

  • Onsite in South Carolina
  • Full-time, 38 hours per week
  • Weekend and evening shift coverage required:
    • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
    • Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30 AM – 2:45 PM

Important Requirements

  • Must be a current South Carolina resident — relocation assistance is not available
  • Candidates must be available for onsite interviews
  • Must be willing to work mandatory weekend evening shifts
  • Selected candidates may be asked to sign an NDA
