Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Scientist to join an environmental testing laboratory in East Longmeadow, MA. This entry-level, full-time role provides hands-on laboratory experience analyzing air, water, and soil samples using standard chemistry and biochemistry methods. Training is provided.

What You’ll Do

• Work with laboratory instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and related analytical equipment
• Analyze environmental samples (air, water, soil) for contaminants using established methods
• Review and interpret analytical results and flag quality or compliance issues
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain organized laboratory records
• Clean, maintain, and perform routine calibration checks on laboratory instruments and equipment
• Follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another STEM discipline — or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Willingness to learn laboratory techniques and standard operating procedures (training provided)
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a lab environment (may encounter strong odors)
• Comfortable following safety protocols and wearing provided PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves)
• Strong attention to detail and basic documentation skills

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $19.00 per hour (hourly rate shown in source content). Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and internal equity.
• Estimated/illustrative annual figure shown in some sources is for informational purposes only; compensation will be confirmed if you are extended an offer.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; overtime or weekend work as needed.
