What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Rotating Equipment PM Engineer to support reliability and maintenance activities at their Plaquemine, LA facility. This is an early-career position ideal for recent mechanical engineering graduates or candidates with equivalent hands-on experience who want to develop rotating-equipment and reliability skills in a heavy industrial environment.

  • Serve as a developing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors): evaluation, performance monitoring, and repair support.
  • Conduct equipment reliability analyses and help implement improvement strategies with Maintenance and Operations.
  • Participate in scheduled turnarounds and support unplanned unit shutdowns as needed.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day equipment issues and provide technical support to operating units.
  • Review, update, and maintain preventive maintenance tasks and routines in the CMMS.
  • Support equipment failure investigations and root-cause activities.
  • Assist in developing repair timelines and coordinating maintenance activities during routine and major work.
  • Join project kickoff meetings to communicate maintenance implications and input on maintainability.
  • Help develop and document maintenance procedures and standard work.
  • Track and report maintenance KPIs and support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Equivalent industry experience in rotating equipment or maintenance engineering will be considered.
  • Basic familiarity with maintenance processes in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing settings is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Mechanical aptitude, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Eagerness to learn reliability engineering and rotating equipment best practices.

Compensation & Location

  • Location: Plaquemine, LA (on-site)
  • Estimated salary (from source): $69,799 per year — actual pay may vary based on experience and internal pay bands.
