What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for an entry-level Transportation / Roadway Engineer to join the transportation design team supporting FDOT and municipal projects. This role is hands-on and focused on learning and executing roadway design tasks under the guidance of experienced roadway engineers and project managers.

• Develop roadway geometrics and prepare detailed construction plans for safe, efficient roadways and highways using applicable design criteria and specifications
• Prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and contract deliverables
• Support project teams during design and construction phases
• Coordinate and communicate with multi-discipline teams (Structures, Drainage, Traffic)
• Learn design workflows and quality-check plan production to meet client and FDOT standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• 0–2 years relevant experience on FDOT or similar public-agency transportation projects
• EI/EIT certification or a commitment to obtain within one year of hire
• Knowledge of FDOT roadway design criteria and plan-production processes
• Proficiency with MicroStation / OpenRoads Designer
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project schedules
• Eagerness to learn and contribute within a collaborative project team

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or coursework specific to transportation design
• Prior exposure to FDOT project requirements or municipal roadway projects
• Familiarity with plan production workflows and construction support procedures
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain any required security clearance, if applicable to the assignment

Location & Clearance

Position location: Hiawassee, FL. Some assignments may support FDOT or municipal work across Florida. The job title references security clearance; where the role requires a clearance, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
