Position Overview
Confidential Client is accepting early applications for an Entry-Level Resident Teacher for the 2027–2028 school year. This is a fully on-site, full-time teacher residency role based in Ny State Campus, NY. The program includes a multi-year development trajectory and support toward New York State teacher certification for eligible candidates.

What you’ll do
- Co-plan and deliver inquiry-based, academically rigorous instruction alongside your Head Teacher to accelerate student learning.
- Build and maintain a strong, positive classroom culture with routines, high expectations, and engaging, joyful learning experiences.
- Master and implement the organization’s academic and social-emotional curriculum across subject areas.
- Use student work, assessments, and observations to identify gaps and adapt instruction so students make strong year-over-year gains.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with students and families, communicating regularly and contributing to each child’s support system.
- Act on coaching and feedback from Head Teachers and school leaders to continuously improve planning, instruction, and outcomes.

- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0

- Student-centered mindset, ownership, and resilience in a fast-paced environment

Teacher residency program & certification support
The Teacher Residency Program is a 3-year commitment:
- Years 1–2: Resident Teacher while enrolled in a fully subsidized 2-year Master’s program (if not already on a certification pathway). Confidential Client will support enrollment in an approved program (e.g., through an accredited partner) to help candidates earn New York State initial certification in general and special education as required.
- Year 3: Transition to a fully certified teacher role (contingent on certification completion). Continued employment and progression are subject to satisfactory performance and role availability.
Compensation trajectory
Anticipated three-year base salary progression for Resident Teachers starting in 2027–2028 (before taxes and deductions):
- Year 1: $65,000
- Year 2: $75,000
- Year 3: $80,500–$83,500 (for teachers who hold NY State Initial Certification by Year 3 start) OR $78,500 (for teachers who do not hold NY State Initial Certification by Year 3 start)
Advancement to the higher Year 3 range is contingent on meeting certification milestones. All compensation decisions reflect individual factors and are subject to organizational review and change.
