Entry-Level Research Specialist
The Entry-Level Research Specialist supports infrastructure projects by conducting title and ownership research, reviewing technical documents, and preparing real estate documentation. This role involves collaboration with various teams and managing land rights data, primarily working remotely with occasional onsite meetings, contributing to new construction and major project initiatives in the energy infrastructure sector.

What You’ll Do
This entry-level remote-friendly role supports land-rights and real-estate research to enable infrastructure projects. You will perform title and ownership research, validate land rights, prepare real-estate documents, and map rights in GIS to support construction, rebuilds, major projects, and relocations. Typical activities include:
- Conduct title and ownership research using county records, internal and external databases
- Review engineering drawings, site plans, and legal descriptions
- Prepare and format real-estate documents and correspondence
- Submit land rights for indexing and map easements in GIS systems
- Coordinate with business partners, real estate representatives, research specialists, and data management teams
- Stay current on land law, regulations, and company procedures
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications to be considered:
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal, Real Estate, Business, Political Science, Surveying & Topography or related field — OR High School diploma/GED plus 3 years’ relevant experience
- Approximately 1 year of related work experience (entry-level)
- Strong research and document-preparation abilities
- Proficiency with database and records research
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and legal descriptions
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates who bring any of the following will stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2 years’ relevant experience
- Paralegal certification or title-examination experience
- Familiarity with surveying, engineering drawings, and electric distribution/transmission systems
- Experience with GIS easement mapping
- MS Office proficiency, strong organization, attention to detail, and critical thinking
Location & Work Model
Work will be performed primarily remotely after onboarding, with occasional onsite meetings. Applicants should live within a reasonable commute to the reporting location in Plainfield, IN and be able to travel to occasional meetings as required.

Compensation
- Pay rate: US$30.00 - US$33.00 per hour (hourly, full-time)
