What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring entry-level quantitative researchers to join its quantitative research teams in Manhattan, NY. You'll work alongside researchers and developers on projects across the stack to design predictive signals, improve models for prediction and execution, and support portfolio construction and risk management. This role gives you early ownership, close mentorship, and direct exposure to live trading workflows.
- Collaborate on research projects that produce predictive signals and algorithmic enhancements.
- Prototype and validate models using Python, then help move successful ideas into production.
- Debug, curate, and validate data — identify missing data, outliers, time-of-day issues, and other edge cases.
- Build and maintain tooling and infrastructure required for data collection, backtesting, and production deployment.
- Contribute to codebases written in C++, Python, Rust, Go, and JavaScript as needed.
- Communicate results clearly to researchers and engineers and iterate based on feedback.
What You Need
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a quantitative or technical field (statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar). Recent graduates and final‑year students encouraged to apply.
- Programming experience and comfort working with code in one or more of: C++, Python, Rust, Go, JavaScript.
- Strong statistical intuition and experience with data analysis / machine learning workflows.
- Attention to detail: ability to find and resolve data issues, off-by-one errors, convergence failures, and other subtle bugs.
- Intellectual curiosity and the willingness to work across the full stack — from data collection to production.
- A strong work ethic and a desire to learn quickly; prior financial experience is not required.

Compensation & Employment Type
- Expected base pay: $175,000–$225,000 per year (may be prorated for internship dates). Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and role specifics.
