Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Project Scheduler to join their Belton, TX team. This is a developmental, full-time contract role supporting project scheduling and project controls for heavy civil construction work. The role combines office work with periodic field visits and offers on-the-job training in scheduling systems and CPM methods.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist with preparing, updating, and maintaining project schedules and baseline CPM schedules.
  • Incorporate subcontractor schedules and coordinate changes into the master project schedule.
  • Enter and review activity, resource, and progress data in Primavera P6 and related systems.
  • Support preconstruction and estimating with bid/proposal schedules.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly schedule update meetings and project-site visits to understand construction sequencing.
  • Prepare schedule narratives, progress and milestone reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Help maintain schedule files, calendars, coding, and progress records per company standards.
  • Identify critical and near-critical activities and flag schedule trends or issues for senior staff.
  • Assist with short-term look-aheads and recovery/mitigation schedules when needed.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with project teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, engineering, or construction.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 is preferred; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of CPM scheduling concepts or a willingness to learn construction sequencing and scheduling procedures.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be considered.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a professional, collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work in active construction environments (exposure to weather, noise, dust, etc.).

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Internship, co-op, or field experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Basic quantity takeoff or estimating experience.
  • Prior exposure to project controls workflows and reporting.
