What You’ll Do
This Contract-to-Hire Project Engineer role is an entry-level engineering position supporting design-build and construction projects. You will be the day-to-day interface between clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations.
- Manage and coordinate project tasks to meet client requirements and project objectives
- Use Bluebeam and Excel for project documentation, RFI tracking, submittals, and simple scheduling
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and keep work moving
- Assist with document control, submittal reviews, and project closeout activities
- Organize and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines and project milestones
- Support project managers and be prepared to step into basic project management tasks
- Travel to job sites (out-of-state) roughly once per month for 1–2 nights per trip
Who You Are — Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (or related field)
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in construction, mechanical, or project engineering
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with clients and trades
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and learn client-specific processes quickly
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Background working for a general contractor (GC), subcontractor, or engineering firm
- Demonstrated teachability and eagerness to grow into project management responsibilities
Work Environment & Travel
This role is based onsite in Centennial, CO, in a modern office environment with a casual dress culture. Expect occasional travel to project sites out of state (about one trip per month, typically 1–2 nights). Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $36.06 - $57.70 per hour (Contract-to-Hire). Actual pay offered will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
