What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for an Entry Level Planner to join their Planning & Urban Design practice. In this role you will:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on research, analysis, graphic production, and written materials.
• Produce clear, compelling informational graphics, maps, 2D diagrams, and presentation layouts for reports and stakeholder engagement.
• Support space programming, campus planning, urban/mixed‑use district studies, resilience planning, and community/master planning projects.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to inform planning recommendations.
• Research and synthesize complex planning issues and contribute to planning reports and memos.
• Assist with client and community engagement activities and prepare supporting materials.

Qualifications

We encourage applicants who meet most of the following:

• 0–3 years of relevant planning or design experience.
• Master’s degree in City or Regional Planning, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 1–2 years of spatial/physical planning experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and day‑to‑day team coordination.
• Clear graphic storytelling and layout skills (diagrams, maps, infographics, presentation and report layouts).
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Comfort with basic quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and synthesizing research findings.

Preferred / Valuable Skills

• Experience or coursework with ArcGIS or other spatial analysis tools.
• Prior work on campus planning, master plans, or interdisciplinary design teams.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Experience with community engagement and public speaking.
• Language skills (Spanish or Chinese) are a plus.
• Degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, or related design fields are welcomed.
• Bring any unique skills or perspectives that will strengthen project work and the practice.

• Salary (listed by client): $72,000 – $83,000 per year
