About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Planner to join a multidisciplinary Planning & Urban Design practice based in Federal Heights, CO (Denver area). This early-career role will support planning, research, graphics, and writing across projects for public- and private-sector clients, with significant exposure to campus planning, urban/mixed-use districts, corporate campuses, resilience planning, and community plans. This position is full-time (contract arrangement possible). Salary range: $72,000–$82,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Support research, data collection, and quantitative/qualitative analysis to inform planning recommendations
• Produce clear, compelling graphics and diagrams (maps, 2D diagrams, infographics) for reports, presentations, and public engagement
• Assist with drafting planning reports, memos, and technical documentation
• Work with GIS and spatial data to create maps and perform basic spatial analysis
• Contribute to outreach and community engagement activities, including presentation support
• Collaborate closely with design, landscape, architecture, and technical teams
• Help maintain project schedules, organize deliverables, and support project documentation

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in City or Regional Planning OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 1–2 years relevant spatial/physical planning experience
• 0–3 years of professional or internship experience in planning or related fields
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite workflows (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
• Basic quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and comfort synthesizing complex planning concepts
• Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn on multidisciplinary teams

Preferred / Valued Skills

• Familiarity with ArcGIS or other spatial analysis tools
• Experience or coursework in campus planning, master planning, or urban design studios
• Experience with community engagement and public speaking
• Portfolio examples demonstrating visual storytelling, diagrams, maps, or data visualization
• Additional languages (Spanish, Chinese) a plus
• Degrees or experience in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design are advantageous
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
