Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a full-time entry-level Naval Architect / Ocean Engineer to join their Ocean Engineering & Analysis group. This role is based in Times Square, WA and offers hands-on exposure to hydrodynamic analysis, mooring systems, CFD and finite-element work. The position is designed for early-career engineers who want strong technical mentorship and opportunities to grow into broader ocean engineering and naval architecture roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary technical effort on projects including ship design, coastal civil structures, marine construction support, offshore energy platforms, and marine renewable energy devices
• Perform climatological analyses and calculate hydrodynamic motions and loads on floating structures
• Design and analyze mooring systems; perform hydro-elastic, potential-flow, and CFD analyses as required
• Execute probabilistic and large-dataset analyses for fleet planning, logistics, risk assessment, and model validation
• Develop, document, and improve team processes, tools, and numerical models to increase engineering efficiency
• Support field trials, model testing, and validation activities; collaborate with cross-functional project teams

Education & Certification

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, ocean engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; ambition and ability to pursue U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure over time

Qualifications

• Academic background or equivalent experience in hydrodynamics, mooring analysis, offshore operations, ship design, and/or offshore platforms
• Ability to apply core engineering principles to problem solving and novel design development
• Familiarity with naval architecture / hydrodynamics software and numerical analysis tools (CFD, potential-flow, finite element methods)
• Experience or coursework involving model testing, field trials, and numerical model validation
• Understanding of marine standards and regulatory frameworks (USCG, ABS, DNV, API) and ability to apply them to design work
• Strong written, oral, and graphical communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

• Primary work location: Times Square, WA (Confidential Client headquarters)
• Role may offer transfer opportunities to other offices after gaining experience
• Some travel and fieldwork expected; project assignments may require a valid driver’s license, current passport, and/or TWIC card

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $40–$49 per hour
• Benefits include medical and dental coverage, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, bonus and profit-sharing plans, and a 401(k) plan
