What You’ll Do
This Entry Level Microbiologist (Second Shift) will work with an experienced analyst/mentor to perform laboratory analyses on bio/pharmaceutical ingredients and products. You will prepare and review samples, run instruments per procedure, document results, and help ensure data quality and regulatory compliance.
- Applies GMP/GLP and follows internal SOPs
- Prepare reagents, media, standards, and samples
- Perform organism/culture preparation, serial dilutions, and aseptic technique
- Operate lab equipment and biological safety cabinets; use microscopes
- Execute pipetting and basic wet-lab techniques with precision
- Review and document testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly
- Process data, generate reports and evaluate analytical results
- Maintain a clean, compliant workspace and perform routine lab maintenance
- Communicate findings effectively with team members and clients
- Support occasional overtime and follow assigned second-shift schedule
Qualifications
To succeed in this role you should meet the minimum qualifications and be able to perform the essential duties reliably.
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or related concentration
- Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Hands-on experience or coursework with microscopes, biological safety cabinets
- Practical skills: media preparation, pipetting, serial dilutions, aseptic technique
- Comfortable using Windows applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data work
- Strong attention to detail, good laboratory technique, and teamwork mindset
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Schedule & Additional Info
- Full-time, Second Shift — Tuesday–Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
- This is an on-site position in Lancaster, PA. Candidates should live within a commutable distance; no relocation assistance provided.
- Up to 25% travel may be required. This position is NOT remote.
- Estimated annual compensation (as listed): $49,654 per year (estimated)
