Overview

This is a full-time, remote role for an entry-level/associate mental health therapist licensed to practice in California. The Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Mental Health Counselor to provide psychotherapy, intake assessments, and coordinated care via telehealth. Salary: USD 65,000 – 85,000 per year (commensurate with experience).

Work Environment

This role is fully remote (telehealth) with regular virtual team consultations and supervision. While clinicians work from home, candidates must be licensed to practice in California (AMFT, ASW, or APCC) and able to comply with California practice and documentation requirements.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches tailored to client needs.
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and develop client-centered treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment updates) that meet ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in team consultations and group supervision to support clinical decision-making.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with external service providers to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

  • Work primarily with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and behavioral concerns.
  • Serve a diverse caseload and incorporate cultural context into treatment planning and delivery.
  • Support clients across ages and backgrounds with a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Must hold an AMFT, ASW, or APCC license in California.
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required; Master’s degree candidates encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of outpatient treatment models and psychosocial dynamics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to document clinical care clearly.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; capable of managing a clinical caseload while providing compassionate care.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 1 year of direct clinical experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms is a plus.
