What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Merrifield, VA. This is an early-career, hands-on role with exposure to building systems projects including HVAC design, energy studies, and facility condition assessments.
- Support mechanical engineering design for new multi-building facilities, retrofits, laboratories, and mission-critical facilities
- Assist with HVAC system selection, load calculations, and equipment sizing
- Prepare mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications
- Contribute to project schedules, cost estimates, and due-diligence documentation
- Coordinate work with other disciplines (architectural, electrical, structural) and project stakeholders
- Participate in energy conservation studies and facility condition assessments
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 0–2 years of professional experience (entry-level)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working in a team with multiple deadlines
- Ability to coordinate cross-discipline work and follow senior engineer direction
- Proficiency in CAD; Revit experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Hands-on experience or coursework in HVAC design and load calculations
- Familiarity with energy modeling, commissioning, or mission-critical systems
- Internship or cooperative-education project experience on mechanical building systems
Compensation & Program Information
- Salary range: $82,500 - $85,000 annually (range provided by Confidential Client)
