What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join their Electronics business unit supporting semiconductor and industrial-facility projects in the Albany metro area. In this hybrid, early-career role you will work on designs for building HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems while learning project execution and client-facing practices.
- Perform and document engineering calculations
- Develop equipment/layout drawings and interconnects
- Select equipment using sizing guidelines and specifications
- Help define scope, schedule, and deliverables for assigned tasks
- Coordinate information flow within multi-discipline design teams
- Support project delivery tasks: client issue tracking, change control, contractor questions, and equipment submittals
- Provide on-site assistance during startup as required
Qualifications
Minimum required
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related major
- Ability to report to the local office at least twice per week (hybrid work arrangement)
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer visa sponsorship (Visa sponsorship is not available for this role)
Preferred / nice to have
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward EIT
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or other 3D modeling software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary and international teams
- Demonstrated time management and ability to meet project deadlines
- Interest in building systems, construction, or facility design; prior related experience preferred
Work Arrangement & Location
- Hybrid entry-level position based in Latham, NY. Candidates are expected to work from the confidential client’s local office 2–3 days per week, with the option to work from home on other days.
- Some travel to client sites may be required depending on project needs.
