What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join a Design/Build team supporting submarine and marine systems. In this hands-on role you will contribute to design studies, detailed component and system design, analysis, and manufacturing reviews. Typical responsibilities include:
- Support completion of design studies and technical analysis for mechanical systems.
- Create and review preliminary and detailed component designs and machine elements.
- Perform mechanical analysis and use FEA tools (where applicable) to validate designs.
- Review vendor-supplied equipment and technical specifications.
- Coordinate design services and vendor activities; participate in technical reviews.
- Evaluate design concepts for manufacturability and cost reduction.
- Interface with cross-discipline engineers, designers, shipbuilders, trades, vendors, and customer representatives.
- Support installation, test, and troubleshooting activities; may include off-hours or weekend support for routine or urgent resolution events.
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or Marine Engineering.
- 0–4 years post-graduate engineering experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reading 2D drawings and using 3D CAD systems.
- Familiarity with FEA tools (example: Abaqus).
- Experience designing mechanical components/systems for seawater exposure or immersion environments.
- Interest in marine/submarine systems and applied mechanics.
