What You’ll Do
This Entry Level Mechanical Engineer will support onsite manufacturing and capital project work at a Brooksville, FL production facility for a Confidential Client. You’ll work with operations, maintenance, controls, automation, and other engineering teams to improve plant safety, capacity, efficiency and reliability.
- Assist with capital projects from concept through installation, start-up, and turnover to operations
- Support mechanical design for manufacturing equipment, conveyors, tooling, fixtures, guarding, platforms, and plant layouts
- Gather and document plant requirements through interviews, field measurements, documentation review, and workflow mapping
- Create and revise mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, fabrication details, and bills of material using CAD software
- Assist with equipment specification, vendor coordination, RFQ development, and technical review of proposals
- Support integration of new equipment and systems into existing facilities, coordinating with operations, maintenance, controls and safety teams
- Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, punch-list completion, and project closeout as assigned
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical assistance to improve existing systems
- Analyze equipment and project data, present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Help ensure compliance with applicable codes, company standards, quality, and safety expectations
- Track assigned tasks and provide regular status updates to support on-time, on-budget project delivery
- Collaborate effectively with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, machine components, fabrication methods, and manufacturing equipment
- CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, bills of material, and equipment documentation
- Knowledge or exposure to conveyors, material handling, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, drives, guarding, and machine safety preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to spend time on the shop floor learning equipment and processes
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office) and the ability to maintain organized project files
- Strong written/verbal communication, time management, and ability to multi-task; team player
- Willingness to develop project management and planning skills through hands-on support
- Occasional after-hours call answering or holiday coverage may be required
- Travel up to ~25% depending on project needs
- Experience with manufacturing equipment design, fabrication, installation, automation, robotics, or controls integration is a plus
