Entry-level Manufacturing Project Manager
The Entry-level Manufacturing Project Manager oversees customer orders from receipt through completion in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, coordinating with sales, engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery. What You’ll Do
This role coordinates customer orders from receipt through final delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with sales, engineering, production, purchasing, and customers to keep projects on schedule, accurately documented, and aligned with expectations.
- Manage customer-based projects and orders from start to finish to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery.
- Enter, track, and monitor customer orders using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or similar ERP), keeping data current and accurate.
- Coordinate daily with sales, engineering, production, purchasing, and other internal teams to resolve issues and support delivery.
- Provide proactive status updates to sales staff, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Prioritize and balance workloads across multiple projects (typically 3–5 orders/day), including short design jobs and longer tooling projects.
- Identify scheduling or order-related issues quickly and drive resolution to keep projects on track.
- Maintain thorough project documentation (order details, timelines, status updates) for traceability.
- Support account-based assignment structure and collaborate professionally with engineers, shop personnel, and sales teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Internship experience in manufacturing or related fields preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and the ability to learn Microsoft Dynamics 365 quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented, open personality with willingness to engage cross-functionally.
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Epicor, or similar ERP platforms.
- Background in product management and/or project management in manufacturing settings.
- Comfortable working with technical products and machine tools; familiarity with turning, grinding, and milling workflows is a plus.
- Ability to manage varying project durations (approximately 2 weeks for quick design jobs up to 10–12 weeks for tooling projects).
- Interest in contributing to design, development, and support of industrial products.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role in a collaborative office adjacent to the shop floor (open workstations). Normal hours are 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM with a company lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM; occasional overtime may be required. The employer designs and manufactures workholding systems for machine tools and operates on a single shift.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour (Contract-to-Hire). Actual pay offered will depend on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
