The Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for analyzing product specifications and manufacturing processes to optimize production methods, including CNC programming and tooling design. Responsibilities
This role supports production and process engineering for a confidential client based in Woburn, MA. You'll work on new part introductions, process improvements, and hands-on CNC/CAM programming.
- Analyze product and equipment specifications to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods using existing processes.
- Create, implement, and troubleshoot CNC programs for new part start-ups using MasterCAM, PartMaker, or equivalent CAM software.
- Evaluate feasibility and cost/time trade-offs for new tooling or equipment designs.
- Coordinate with vendors to specify and procure equipment, materials, and parts; evaluate incoming products against quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing needs, and related costs to inform management decisions.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to increase yield, reduce cost, and maintain safety and quality.
- Maintain documentation of processes, CNC programs, tooling, and work instructions.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred. Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology plus 3+ years manufacturing experience in a machine-shop environment, or 5+ years of process engineering/programming experience, will be considered.
- Technical skills:
- CNC programming experience (MasterCAM, PartMaker, or similar).
- CAD experience (SolidWorks or equivalent).
- Comfortable with spreadsheet tools and basic data analysis.
- Familiarity with surface treatments and processes (anodizing, chromate, heat treat, grinding) is a plus.
- Core abilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings.
- Apply geometry/trigonometry and basic statistics to manufacturing problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to prepare reports and present findings.
- Work style:
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and collaborating with production technicians and vendors.
- Attention to safety and ability to follow established procedures.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work is primarily in a manufacturing / machine-shop environment; regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands; frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
