Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-level Logistics Coordinator / Dispatcher to join their transportation team in Plymouth, MI. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting day-to-day shipment execution, carrier communications, and TMS updates. The position provides clear growth opportunities into transportation operations leadership.


What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for a motivated candidate who can manage shipment flows, coordinate carriers, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining strong carrier and customer relationships.

  • Coordinate and manage shipments from assignment through final delivery.
  • Monitor and maintain load boards to ensure timely coverage.
  • Source and secure carrier capacity within established rate guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate shipment status updates in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Monitor pickups and deliveries and proactively identify delays or service risks.
  • Resolve transportation exceptions and operational issues; escalate when needed with documented action steps.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers and transportation providers.
  • Build and maintain strong carrier relationships and provide proactive shipment updates.
  • Partner closely with account management and operations teams to troubleshoot service issues.
  • Track profitability on assigned shipments and support operational reporting and data accuracy.
  • Document carrier rejections and capacity constraints; assist with transportation performance tracking.

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, brokerage, or supply chain preferred (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).
  • Customer service experience with strong communication skills.
  • Proven dispatching and data-entry capability; comfortable with load board management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Experience in trucking, 3PL, brokerage, or fleet operations is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations preferred; ELD/eLog experience a plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Professional, collaborative demeanor and ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.

Workplace & Schedule

  • Onsite role based in Plymouth, MI (fully onsite).
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM, with one weekend per month on a rotating basis. Schedule published in advance.
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with significant interaction across carriers, operations, and account management.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $55,000 per year (range shown: $55,000 - $55,000).
  • 10 days of paid time off (PTO).

Compensation offered will depend on experience, skills, location, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
