Position Details

Confidential Client (environmental testing laboratory) is hiring an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician on a Contract-to-Hire basis. This is a full-time, first-shift opportunity with consistent hours and hands-on training.

  • Location: Henrietta / Rochester, NY
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Compensation: $18.00 / hour (firm) + shift differential
  • Employment type: Contract-to-Hire → Full-Time
  • Industry: Scientific & QA

What You’ll Do

You’ll join a professional environmental testing lab and receive structured, on-the-job training. Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare environmental samples for laboratory analysis following established procedures and EPA testing methods
  • Accurately label, organize, and process samples for testing
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace
  • Learn and use laboratory software to document and track samples
  • Follow detailed procedures to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Support the laboratory team on additional projects as needed

Qualifications

We welcome recent graduates and candidates new to laboratory work. Required and preferred qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new lab software
  • Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
