What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Java Software Engineer to help design and build secure, scalable systems that support mission-critical intelligence workloads.

You will:

• Architect and develop backend services and web applications using Java and the Spring framework.
• Implement supporting scripts and components in Python where appropriate.
• Design, deploy, and operate scalable cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Integrate machine learning / AI capabilities into system workflows and evaluate model performance.
• Translate requirements into resilient software architectures and implement them in an Agile environment.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, track work in JIRA, and follow continuous integration practices.
• Produce and maintain documentation, tests, and deployment automation.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0+ years professional experience — this is an entry-level role.
• Active Top Secret / SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (TS/SCI-FS Poly) required prior to consideration.
• Proficiency or coursework/projects with Java and familiarity with the Spring framework.
• Familiarity with Python for tooling or integration tasks.
• Basic knowledge of cloud services (AWS) and how to deploy applications to cloud infrastructure.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams and using tools such as JIRA.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• Total compensation: $205,000 per year (listed/estimated by the source; actual offer may vary).
• Employment type: Full-time, direct hire with the Confidential Client.

Location & Security Requirements

• Location: Oak Hill, VA (work location is in Oak Hill, VA per this posting).
• Security: Candidates must already possess an active Top Secret / SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (TS/SCI-FS Poly) to be considered.
• Work authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The Confidential Client will provide details on relocation or remote-work options (if any) as part of the hiring process.
