This is an Entry-Level Java Developer role (Spring Boot, DevOps) with Data Science / data engineering pathways. The position is for candidates based in Grandview, OH (Grandview, OH). The Confidential Client is hiring entry-level/full-time engineers who want hands-on Java, Spring Boot, REST, SQL and DevOps exposure with guided project work and interview preparation.
What you’ll do
You’ll join a training-to-hire pipeline that combines hands-on project work, core technical training, and interview preparation to move candidates from support/IT roles or recent graduation into Java developer and data roles.
- Work with Java (core/OOP) and Spring Boot to build RESTful services and integrations
- Learn and apply version control (Git), unit testing, and CI/CD/DevOps practices
- Use SQL for data access; build small data pipelines or analytics tasks
- Complete project-based assignments that demonstrate production-ready skills
- Participate in technical interview prep: systems design basics, debugging, tradeoffs, and complexity analysis
- Optionally explore data-focused tracks (data analysis, ML fundamentals) depending on candidate interest and performance
Responsibilities
- Complete defined learning modules and project milestones in Java / Spring Boot
- Produce demonstrable code (repositories, tests, documentation) to include in your portfolio
- Collaborate with mentors and engineering peers to iterate on solutions
- Prepare for and participate in job interviews with partners/clients
- Follow secure coding and data-handling practices

Compensation & employment details
- Employment type: Full time
- Salary range (reported): $78,000 - $127,000 per year
- Location: Grandview, OH (on-site or local-hybrid as applicable per client)
