The Entry-Level Interior Designer at Confidential Client will support all phases of commercial interior design projects, assisting with design development, documentation, presentations, and fieldwork. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-level Interior Designer to join their studio in Chickamauga, TN. This hands-on role is designed for a recent graduate or emerging designer who wants to develop practical skills across commercial interior design projects while collaborating with architects and senior designers.
- Assist with drawings and documentation across project phases (schematic through construction documents).
- Prepare and update floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and other interior/architectural documents.
- Create clear 2D and 3D presentation materials to communicate design intent.
- Support space planning, programming, finish selections, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment).
- Research materials, products, manufacturers and organize findings for the project team.
- Participate in design charrettes, client meetings, and vendor presentations.
- Conduct field surveys, assist with site visits, punchlists, submittals, and shop drawing reviews as requested.
- Collaborate with team members to solve technical and design challenges while meeting project standards and deadlines.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (or closely related field) from an accredited program.
- 0+ years professional experience — recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- Foundation in drafting, space planning, design principles, materials, FF&E, and construction documentation.
- Revit experience preferred; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required.
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and/or Enscape is a plus.
- Basic understanding of building codes, life-safety, ADA requirements, construction methods, and sustainable design principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
Position Details
- Employment type: Full-time, in-office.
- Location: Chickamauga, TN (onsite).
- Start: As soon as available.
- Salary: $45,000–$55,000 per year (depending on experience and licensure).
- Reporting: This role reports to the Interior Design Studio Leader and senior studio leadership.
