Position overview

This is an entry-level Infrastructure Hardware Systems Engineer role supporting mission-critical surface systems. You will join an agile engineering team that designs, integrates, tests and documents hardware and infrastructure solutions used on U.S. Navy surface ships. This is an on-site, full-time position in Allendale, MA.


Key responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, test and troubleshoot computing and infrastructure hardware in lab and controlled environments.
  • Read and apply engineering drawings, wiring schematics, parts lists and rack layouts.
  • Build and validate common hardware solutions to meet system requirements and security standards.
  • Create and maintain clear engineering documentation, test procedures and lab reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members daily to plan sprints, identify risks and deliver on commitments.
  • Support requirements management and system modeling activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to apply automation or AI to streamline testing and continuous improvement efforts.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
  • Ability to work on-site in Allendale, MA.
  • Applicants must be eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense security investigation; U.S. citizenship is required due to facility access and clearance requirements.
  • Willingness to learn hands‑on hardware troubleshooting and to follow documented engineering processes.

Preferred skills & experience

  • Experience reading engineering drawings, wiring schematics, parts lists or rack layouts.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of computing hardware in a lab or customer-site setting.
  • Familiarity with developing schematics using Siemens Capital Logic Designer.
  • Basic knowledge of systems engineering concepts, requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Strong teamwork, clear written documentation skills and a willingness to grow professionally.

Compensation & benefits

  • Combined salary range: USD $82,200.00 - USD $82,200.00 per year.

Work location & schedule
