The Entry Level Industrial Engineer at Confidential Client is responsible for developing operating and recovery plans, supporting data analysis through models and databases, and improving manufacturing and production processes using Lean and Industrial Engineering principles. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, process documentation, and scheduling to enhance schedule performance, reduce costs, and improve quality in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This position requires on-site work including physical activity such as walking and entering aircraft.

What You’ll Do
This Entry Level Industrial Engineer with Security Clearance will support manufacturing and production teams to improve schedule performance, reduce cost, and increase quality. You will learn and apply industrial engineering tools and Lean methods, support data collection and analysis, and help develop operating and recovery plans.
- Develop and maintain operating plans and recovery plans as needed
- Support and develop models, databases, and spreadsheets for data analysis (statistics, operations research, trend and production impact analysis)
- Recommend and implement process improvements using Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts
- Investigate and develop solutions to routine technical problems
- Collaborate cross-functionally to observe, document, and collect process data in manufacturing areas and on aircraft during production phases
- Schedule work plans and conduct staffing and process-impact analyses
- Assist with time studies and summarize findings for leadership
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Beginner-level Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to walk, stand, and enter aircraft via steps or ladders; able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Must meet requirements related to security clearance as noted in the job title
Preferred
- Experience in the aircraft/aerospace industry
- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (example: IVT)
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Boeing Aurora
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification
- Experience conducting and leading time studies and reporting results to leadership
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- On-site work may require frequent presence in production/manufacturing areas and access to aircraft
- Able to walk, stand, climb steps/ladder access into aircraft
- Able to lift and move up to 35 lbs as required to perform job tasks
