What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on, entry-level technical role supporting the activation of a new neuroscience patient care tower in New Haven. You will work directly with medical devices, technology hardware, inventory systems, and cross-functional project teams to ensure equipment is installed, tested, tracked, and clinical-ready.

  • Support deployment and activation of hundreds of new medical devices and technology assets across a newly constructed patient care tower
  • Receive, unpack, inventory, tag/label, and track incoming equipment using Excel and internal tracking systems
  • Assist with equipment installations, assembly/disassembly, and hardware setup
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, inspections, and quality checks prior to clinical use
  • Read service manuals, diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support setup and maintenance
  • Document equipment status, repairs, deployments, and project milestones with attention to accuracy
  • Coordinate with Clinical Engineering, Facilities, Technology, and Project teams to meet activation schedules
  • Follow all safety procedures when working in active construction and clinical environments
  • Provide professional customer service while interacting with healthcare staff and project stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Strong interest in technology and building a long-term career in healthcare IT
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced project environment

Ideal Backgrounds

  • Early-career IT, desktop support, help desk, field service, or hardware support experience
  • Technical school, trade school, community college, or recent graduates from related programs
  • Experience building PCs, repairing electronics, or troubleshooting hardware as a hobby or in past roles
  • Backgrounds in AV, telecommunications, low-voltage, manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, military, or other technical trades
  • Individuals who prefer hands-on work with equipment and hardware rather than desk-based ticketing roles

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (the exact offer within this range will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors)
  • This is a Contract-to-Hire role. Eligible employees may have access to benefits that could include medical, dental & vision; 401(k); life insurance; short/long-term disability; Health Savings Account (HSA); transportation benefits; Employee Assistance Program (EAP); and paid time off — eligibility depends on classification and employer rules.
