Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring an Entry Level Healthcare IT Technician for a contract-to-hire, fully onsite position in Hamden, CT. This hands-on role supports the deployment and activation of medical and technology equipment in a new patient care tower. This is an excellent entry point for recent graduates or early-career technicians who want practical healthcare-technology experience and long-term growth.


What You’ll Do

  • Support deployment and activation of hundreds of medical devices and technology assets throughout a newly constructed patient care tower.
  • Receive, unpack, inventory, tag, label, and track incoming medical equipment and technology assets.
  • Assist with equipment installations, hardware deployments, and technology setup activities.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and perform basic troubleshooting on medical and technology equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and quality checks prior to clinical use.
  • Read service manuals, diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support setup and maintenance.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and internal tracking systems to document installations, activity, and inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment status, repairs, deployments, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate with Clinical Engineering, Facilities, Technology, and Project Teams to meet activation schedules.
  • Assist with equipment moves, upgrades, replacements, and other deployment initiatives.
  • Provide professional customer service to healthcare staff and project stakeholders.
  • Follow all safety procedures when working in active construction and clinical environments.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Entry-level IT professionals and candidates from technical backgrounds are welcome.
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfort working with hands-on equipment and technology.

  • Recent graduates in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or related fields.

Pay & Benefits

  • Pay range: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour (actual offer within this range depends on qualifications and other job-related factors).
