Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry‑Level Geotechnical Engineer to join their engineering team in Pineville, NC. This full‑time opening is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career engineers who want hands‑on field experience combined with office‑based technical work. The role supports geotechnical, civil, and environmental projects across multiple sectors.
What You’ll Do
- Support subsurface exploration and field investigations, including overseeing drilling, monitoring well installation, and sample collection.
- Perform soil and rock classification, in‑situ testing, and logging of boreholes.
- Assist with laboratory testing programs and analyze geotechnical and environmental data.
- Prepare technical figures, data tables, and clear, well‑organized engineering reports.
- Conduct construction and environmental inspections; document site conditions and compliance.
- Coordinate with drilling contractors, laboratories, vendors, and project team members.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams and external clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining, or a related field.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification preferred; interest in pursuing PE licensure.
- Strong interest in fieldwork and analytical geotechnical solutions.
- College‑level technical writing ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use company‑provided PPE.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Walk over rough, uneven terrain and stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours on some days).
- Regularly lift and carry 40–50 lbs (samples and equipment).
- Willingness to travel and work outside normal business hours when project needs require (may include out‑of‑town and overnight travel).
