What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer in Parsippany, NJ. In this entry-level position you will support field and laboratory geotechnical work on site and in-office, help prepare technical logs and reports, and work closely with senior engineers to analyze geotechnical problems on large-scale projects.
- Assist with planning and executing field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data
- Monitor foundation and earthwork construction, ensuring conformance with construction documents
- Identify and implement solutions to routine and more complex field and laboratory issues
- Prepare drilling and test pit logs, field investigation dailies, chain of custody logs, and standard field forms
- Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches to support investigations
- Document and communicate site issues and observations to supervisors promptly
- Support preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and technical deliverables as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master’s with a geotechnical specialty preferred
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience (entry-level)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- EIT certification or current registration for the FE exam preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with solid analytical, multitasking, and judgment abilities
- Comfortable spending the majority of work hours in the field
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
- Willingness to travel periodically based on project needs
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $68,250 — $88,750 USD (annual)
