About the Opportunity

Our confidential client is hiring an Entry‑Level Geotechnical Engineer to support civil, geotechnical, and environmental projects in and around New Albany, IN. This is an early-career, full‑time role that blends fieldwork and office analysis — ideal for recent graduates or engineers beginning their geotechnical careers.

What You’ll Do

You will learn from licensed engineers and geologists while performing a mix of field and office responsibilities:

• Conduct field investigations: soil borings, drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, in‑situ testing, and sample collection (soil, groundwater, gas).
• Support lab testing programs and analyze subsurface and geotechnical data.
• Prepare data tables, figures, site logs, and graphical presentations.
• Assist with writing clear, well‑organized technical reports and documenting compliance with state/federal standards.
• Perform construction and environmental inspections and document site conditions.
• Coordinate with contractors, laboratories, vendors, and project team members and communicate with internal staff and clients.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining, or a related field.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or actively pursuing EIT; interest in pursuing PE licensure.
• Strong interest in fieldwork and geotechnical problem solving.
• College‑level technical writing skills and attention to clear documentation.
• Motivated to learn, collaborative, and safety‑minded.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

You must be willing and able to:

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Walk over rough, uneven terrain and stand for extended periods (potentially up to 12 hours).
• Routinely lift and carry 40–50 lbs (samples and equipment).
• Travel and work outside normal business hours when projects require overnight or out‑of‑town assignments.
  Personal protective equipment will be provided.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated pay: $93,270 per year (estimated). Actual pay is based on experience.
