What You’ll Do
This opportunity is for an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer supporting a confidential client’s projects in the Texas region. You will work primarily in the field and support geotechnical engineering tasks on land development, infrastructure, and energy-related projects.
- Assist with planning and executing field investigations: logging borings and test pits, collecting soil samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
- Observe and document foundation and earthwork construction; monitor conformance with construction documents and report deviations.
- Prepare drilling/test pit logs, daily field reports, chain-of-custody forms and other standard field documentation.
- Assist in analyzing field and laboratory results and propose practical solutions for routine and non-routine problems.
- Conduct site reconnaissance, file reviews, and basic document searches.
- Communicate findings and site issues clearly to supervisors and project teams.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned to support timely project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- EIT certification or active registration for the FE exam preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, good judgment, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness and ability to spend the majority of work hours performing fieldwork.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client meetings and job-site visits.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Master’s degree with geotechnical specialization or interest in pursuing graduate studies.
- Experience or coursework in soil sampling, in-situ testing, or geotechnical lab testing.
- Familiarity with field safety best practices and site supervision.
