What You’ll Do

This opportunity is for an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer supporting a confidential client’s projects in the Texas region. You will work primarily in the field and support geotechnical engineering tasks on land development, infrastructure, and energy-related projects.

  • Assist with planning and executing field investigations: logging borings and test pits, collecting soil samples, performing field tests, and recording data.
  • Observe and document foundation and earthwork construction; monitor conformance with construction documents and report deviations.
  • Prepare drilling/test pit logs, daily field reports, chain-of-custody forms and other standard field documentation.
  • Assist in analyzing field and laboratory results and propose practical solutions for routine and non-routine problems.
  • Conduct site reconnaissance, file reviews, and basic document searches.
  • Communicate findings and site issues clearly to supervisors and project teams.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned to support timely project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • EIT certification or active registration for the FE exam preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, good judgment, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to spend the majority of work hours performing fieldwork.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client meetings and job-site visits.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Master’s degree with geotechnical specialization or interest in pursuing graduate studies.
  • Experience or coursework in soil sampling, in-situ testing, or geotechnical lab testing.
  • Familiarity with field safety best practices and site supervision.
