What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join their Engineering team supporting energy, commercial, transportation infrastructure, and construction projects. This role offers hands-on field experience and technical mentoring while contributing to subsurface investigations, geotechnical analyses, and report preparation.

- Location: Cary, NC (onsite field work required at project sites in the region)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with field assignments including boring layout, utility clearance coordination, and supervision of drill rigs during geotechnical investigations.
- Log borings and test pits and compile field data and laboratory test results.
- Provide inspection and construction oversight for grading, earthwork, retaining structures, trenchless installations, and foundations.
- Support geotechnical analyses under senior staff supervision: soil/rock classification, slope stability, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, trenchless drill design, and geologic hazard evaluations.
- Assist in preparing geotechnical reports and construction documentation.
What We’re Looking For
- 0–3 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering strongly desired.
- EIT preferred.
- Positive work attitude and strong safety awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently or in multidisciplinary teams, and travel to job sites for field work and construction phases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
